Modern grey and white bathroom with curves and lots of bathroom furniture storage. Find out how Mr and Mrs Smith chose their new curvy shower.

Fitted bathroom case study with curvy shower enclosure

Curvy Shower

Mr and Mrs Smith decided to reconfigure their bathroom in order to have the shower they craved and more space - no sliding door in sight along with plenty of slimline storage. Ditching the bath has proved popular in recent years creating more space in the bathroom. As the shower system still worked perfectly from the original bathroom Mr and Mrs Smith kept this and changed the shower heads to match the new bathroom. The textured Doccia shower tray is fabricated to customer requirements including a cut out in the corner of the tray for ease of installation and again comes in a wide variety of colours (we have a pink one in the showroom!).  This sits in the same floor space as the previous bath complemented with a curvy glass shower enclosure. Though Mr Smith didn't anticipate the weight of the shower tray which was a little heavier to position into place than he thought. It's worth checking the weight of products ordered to ensure they fit in your bathroom and you have enough help to lift into place and positon correctly.

Mr Smith points out, "we didn't want a sliding door as this curved enclosure is much more stylish and easier to clean".

Bathroom Furniture

The curvy, glass shower enclosure from Merlyn is a real statement feature to the bathroom and complements the curves of the sanitaryware. Notice the sink and worktop are produced as an all in one Corian piece of sanitaryware which comes fabricated with the basin included in the matching colour. This blends in with a seamless join for easy installation. If you fancy a different colour for your bathroom you can choose from a wide variety of colours. Plenty of slimline, fitted bathroom cabinetry from Vanity Hall VH2 range, have been fitted flush along the opposite wall from the shower with the WC tucked into the same unit, finished off with more curves in the door handles. Wavy door handles are a great feature to enhance the grey fitted bathroom units.

Bathroom 3D Plans

Previously, the bathroom had no usable storage. A magnificent rectangle illuminated mirror from Calypso, spans the breadth of the sink and WC bathroom furniture, which bounces lots of light around the room to create the feeling of more space.

The WC and sink have been reconfigured to sit flush on the same wall creating one bank of seamless units whilst the radiator has been repositoned at the end of the shower so the couple can easily reach toasty warm towels.

Tiles from Tile Flair complement the bathroom furniture adding a lovely textured stone effect and the wall mounted JIS towel rail keeps towels toasty warm plus increases floor space making the bathroom feel larger. Vinyl floor tiles sourced by Mr and Mrs Smith.
