What to consider before you buy your new bath

To find a bath that is comfortable and practical to your needs, think about who will be using it, and in what way. Do you like to sit up or lie down? Will you be bathing children, where a deep bath may be impractical? Some people enjoy a deep bath they can lie out in; others prefer a shallower bath they can read in.

As a bath is almost always the most significant item in a bathroom, it is the focal point of the room. Consider what style you would like to have, as this will influence the design of the entire bathroom.

The shape of your bathroom is bound to influence your decision on a bath, and may even limit your options. If you have a smaller bathroom, for example, a corner bath could be the ideal solution. If there isn’t room for both a bath and shower, a bath shower mixer with a screen will work well.

When choosing the material of your bath, bare in mind that different materials all have different qualities and drawbacks.

Find out whether or not the bath you choose comes with tap hole options, and if so, how many. You may already know what type of bath filler you wish to have, so will need to be sure this is practical.
