With people constantly in and out the living room is usually a hive of activity. However, this can mean our living room is the room which ends up with the stained carpets and marked walls. So, how can you get your favourite room looking fresher without splashing too much cash?
The standard way to update any room, fresh paint on the walls. It is always worth using durable paint in a living room especially if you have pets or children. We recommend using a paint such as Crown Easyclean or Dulux Easycare Washable Paint as they are so easy to wipe down.
Carpets can be a really expensive thing to replace. It is worth considering if you can hire a Rug Doctor or equivalent to remove the stains. They also do a range of sprays to use as a pre-treatment. You could also cover up the carpet with a large feature rug, these are usually much cheaper than a new carpet.
If you need more seating but can’t stretch your budget to a new sofa, why not purchase a statement chair? The beauty of a statement chair is it doesn’t have to match your sofa. If your sofa is looking a bit tired buying a nice living room throw or blanket can jazz it up and could also be tied in to your statement accessories.
As well as helping the budget stretch this is also great for space saving. Make sure your furniture is doing as much as it can for you. An example: Use a sideboard as a TV unit. Your TV will be safely out of reach and you’ll have plenty of storage below.
